Many epic adventures in our little corner of the world require one or more of the following . . .
*Years and Years on a National Park Service waiting list.
*Tough to obtain permits from the local BLM office in Kanab.
*Intense preparation for the physical demands that lie ahead.
*A vehicle and the necessary skill to handle mile after mile of deep sand.
Here’s one that doesn’t require any of the above; Kayaking the Colorado River in Glen Canyon, where the crystal clear waters run below the towering sand stone cliffs. This extraordinary 17 mile stretch starts at Glen Canyon Dam, meanders under the Horseshoe Bend overlook, before ending where the Colorado River enters Marble Canyon at Lees Ferry. We like this backhaul service for transport up the Colorado River.
